Job Description
Responsibilities
•Safety, security and wellbeing of the child
•Responding with flexibility to specific parent/child needs and wants and prioritise accordingly
•Understanding and agreeing child’s routines likes/ dislikes
•Awareness and control of allergies, administering medicines, support with individual needs etc.
•Flexible hours within an agreed weekly limit
•Communication and structured feedback to parents
•Duties that directly involve looking after the child only
•Agreed weekly schedule of hours, activities and nursery days, planned outings etc.
•Administering medicines
•Liaison with Nursery Manager and nursery team
•Reinforcing appropriate discipline (in partnership with parents)

Key tasks and routines
•Daily, weekly, monthly feedback to parents of child’s activities, development and fun
•Support and provision of appropriate stimulating activities for the development of the child
•To ensure safety and cleanliness of toys and baby equipment
•Settling in at nominated nursery on agreed days
•Preparing appropriate healthy and nutritious meals and baby’s feeds
•Cleaning and tidying children’s rooms and play/living areas.

Ensuring all areas clean and tidy after use
•Engaging children in lively and fun activities appropriate to their age
•Never leaving children unattended when they are in your charge (e.g. in shop, playground, bath)
•Cleaning, laundering and maintaining the children’s clothes, bedding and toys
•Responsibility for cleaning and maintaining household equipment relating to the care of the children
•Traveling with the children and preparing for holidays, weekend visits, birthdays etc.
•Taking children to playgroup/nursery/school
•Caring for the child should they be ill
•Expenses management related to child
•Time and hours management
•Bathing the child/personal care (changing nappies etc)
•Maintaining all ‘kit bags’, ensuring all contents are available and up to date
•Responding to emergency cover requests
•Helping with homework
