Nanny-Housekeeper
Are you looking for a fulfilling position that allows you to make a difference in a down-to-earth and friendly family? If you're seeking a job that combines childcare, personal assistance, and housekeeping responsibilities, then this opportunity in Streatham, London, is perfect for you!

We are a family of four with two (genuinely) great children, ages 4 (11/2019) and 6 (07/2017). As working parents, we value the balance between our pretty serious jobs and the fun side of life. We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and organised individual to join our team. You will play a crucial role in our household, seamlessly handling childcare responsibilities, housekeeping duties, and keeping the show on the road.

Your days will typically start around noon when our daughter finishes nursery. You'll have quality time with her until our son requires collecting from school, conveniently located on our street, at either 3:15 pm or 4:30 pm each day. We’ll take over from 6pm each day. Flexibility over school holidays is important.

Responsibilities:

Childcare:

Provide attentive and caring childcare for our two children
Engage the children in age-appropriate activities, educational play, and outings
Ensure their safety, well-being, and emotional development at all times
Prepare and serve healthy meals for the children
Transport the children to and from school, activities, and appointments.

Housekeeping:

Keep the house organised and tidy on a daily basis (we have a cleaner who comes once a week)
Manage laundry and ironing tasks, ensuring clothes are washed, folded, and put away
Keep Sullivan, our lovely 17-year-old Maine Coon cat company.

Personal Assistance:

Assist with running errands, such as grocery shopping and other miscellaneous tasks to ensure the smooth running of the household
Coordinate with us on schedules, appointments, and calendar activities
Organise household supplies and ensure stock levels are maintained
Coordinate with contractors, service providers, and vendors for household maintenance.

Skills and Qualities:

Be a warm, loving, and patient caregiver with a genuine passion for children's well-being
Possess the ability to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children's growth and development
Showcase strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
Exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Have experience with children ages 2 and up, with a strong understanding of their needs
Provide strong references attesting to your skills and character
While not required, a valid driver's licence is beneficial.

Work Environment:

Enjoy a live-out position just a short walk from the Thameslink in Streatham
The family is committed to providing a competitive salary and benefits package based on experience
You will be required to work 30-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, exact hours to be agreed
Be flexible in working hours to accommodate occasional evenings and weekends

We’d like to discuss:

How we can make this your dream job
How together we best deal with holidays
The option for one late evening in the week with an early finish on a Friday
How to make sure your workload is manageable ahead of our daughter starting school in September 2024

If you are a dedicated, trustworthy, and organised individual with a passion for childcare and household management, we would love to hear from you. This is an opportunity to join a friendly and welcoming family, where your contributions will be valued and appreciated. Please get in touch :)
