Job Title: British Governess for Family in Abu Dhabi

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced British Governess to join a family in Abu Dhabi. The Governess will play a pivotal role in overseeing the academic, administrative, and emotional well-being of a 14-year-old child. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide stability and support during a crucial academic transition, preparing the child for university and beyond.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the academic, administrative, and emotional well-being of a 14-year-old child, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment.
2. Establish a bond with the child and provide emotional support, focusing on life skills and independence to prepare for university.
3. Manage the child's academic schedule, including coordinating with tutors, teachers, and external educational resources.
4. Assist with the child's transition from secondary school to university, including the application process and preparation for exams.
5. Act as the main point of contact for all academic-related matters, maintaining open communication with teachers and school staff.
6. Manage the child's daily schedule, including school runs and extracurricular activities.
7. Provide limited hands-on academic support as needed, working closely with tutors and teachers.
8. Take on the school run for a younger sibling, ensuring their safety and punctuality.
9. Work collaboratively with other household staff, including a western nanny overseeing the care of other children.
10. Balance working from home and in the household, adapting to the family's schedule and needs.
Requirements:
1. British nationality with a strong understanding of the British education system, including the GCSE and A-Level curriculum.
2. Previous experience working as a Governess or in a similar educational role, preferably with older children.
3. Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
4. Warm, compassionate, and patient demeanor with a genuine interest in supporting the child's growth and development.
5. Ability to establish rapport and build trust with the child, providing emotional support and guidance.
6. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities, including working 5 or 6 days per week.
7. Willingness to commit ideally three years to provide stability and continuity for the child.
8. Must be able to trial before mid-June and start in early August.
9. Current Governess highly recommends the position.
