Loving live-in Housekeeper & Nanny for Danish family of 4 near Copenhagen. Starting January 2024

We are a family of 4 with two full time working parents with international and demanding jobs and two wonderful children, our son Carl is 5 years old and our daughter Rose is 2 years old.

We are looking for a new full time live-in housekeeper and nanny. The role is roughly 55% housekeeping and 45% nanny. That said, the nanny is clearly a very important person in our children’s lives and it is important to us that the nanny actively wants to be part of raising our children with us and interacts with them in a loving and purposeful way.

Daily routine / tasks involve:
-setting breakfast ready for the family
-making the beds
-getting the kids ready for nursery once parents leave for work
-dropping kids off and picking them up again from nursery
-main point of contact for nursery staff
-bringing kids to and from activities and/or playdates and also partaking in certain activities (eg our daughters swimming lessons)
-taking care of the children after nursery (3pm) until parents are home (typically between 5-6pm). Could involve going to the park, science museum, swimming or home activities like arts & craft, baking, reading or just playing in the playroom
-maintaining and developing the children’s English skills. They are both bilingual and it is important to us that their English skills continue to develop
-daily laundry, ironing and returning clothes to the closets
-daily tidying up
-light cleaning (we also have a cleaner that comes once a week for a thorough cleaning)
-preparing snacks
-preparing dinner for the family approx. 4 days a week
-helping to organize weekly grocery shopping list (we order online and have it delivered)
-babysitting in the evening approx. 2 days a week of which one will be either Friday or Saturday evening. Thankfully the kids sleep really well, so in reality this just means staying home and keeping an eye on the monitors. The nanny should however also be comfortable to complete the bedtime routine with the kids on her/his own in case we don’t make it home in time for bedtime or on a rare occasion are both traveling
-activities with the kids a few hours during Saturday or Sunday morning while we work out

Additional occasional tasks:
-traveling with the family on holiday (please note that when traveling on holiday, the nanny should expect to share a bedroom with the children)
-helping out when we have guests
-staying home with a sick child (obviously if it is serious we will stay home ourselves, but in case of just light fever or stomach bug, the nanny should be comfortable staying with the child)

Traits and requirements:
-empathetic and kind-hearted
-loving towards the children and take an active role in raising them with us
-maintaining a good routine for the kids
-organized, efficient and proactive to help the household run smoothly and ensure a tidy home base
-positive and a can-do attitude
-ideally, we are looking for someone who would want to stay with us for many years, but we can be flexible. We would ask for a minimum intention of 2 years though

Accommodation:
-small apartment in the basement of the family house with own entrance, private room (approx. 20 sqm) as well as a own kitchen and semi own bathroom (shared when we have guests staying)

Terms:
-16.000 DKK per month pre-tax. This equates to roughly 10.000 DKK per month after tax. If you are interested in taking on all the cleaning responsibilities, we would be able to increase the salary somewhat
-board & lodging included
-full time, approximately 40 hours per week -additional pay for full day weekend work
-holiday 5 weeks per year, unpaid
-only EU citizens can get a work permit in Denmark and therefore we kindly ask for only individuals holding an EU passport to apply
