An international family based in Dubai is looking for a qualified and experienced manny/ governor to provide care and educational support for their son, aged 5.5

This is a rota position, working 3 weeks on/ 3 weeks off in rotation with another governor employed by the family. The family also has a 2-year-old girl, who has her nannies. The children speak English, French, and Russian.

The charge is doing well academically and the family would like the governor to arrange educationally stimulating activities and excursions when outside of school, with a particular focus on science and ‘hands-on’ learning. The charge attends an international school during the day so there will be downtime during the week.

The family lives in a fully-staffed house. No cooking or cleaning is required but the governor should help to keep play areas tidy and organised together with the little boy. A driver can be provided for work-related purposes. The parents are very active in their son’s day-to-day life and are around to support the children and the candidate when required.

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a native-level speaker of English. The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience working in a similar role. Early childhood education qualifications would also be a plus, as would experience tutoring or teaching science or mathematics to develop the boy’s interests. The family is looking for a positive, active candidate with great energy. The charge is very active and sporty, so a candidate with similar interests and a warm, bubbly disposition would be welcomed.

The family wants the candidate to encourage a good routine for their son. This should include a morning routine (getting ready for school, breakfast, school drop off), and an evening routine (school pick up, supervising homework, afternoon activities, sports, playing, shower, dinner, story time, bed time).

The family wishes to employ an energetic, caring and responsible person who is First Aid trained, a confident swimmer, hands-on, reliable and capable of working independently. The family is ideally looking for a long-term candidate.

Excellent references and a background check are essential.
