Nursery Assistant
Arthur’s House is working with a wonderful, family-owned and run nursery in Bayswater to find them an excellent nursery assistant. The successful candidate will join the Young England Kindergarten team, working closely with the Principal and Head Teacher. The role involves supporting other staff members within the nursery and contributing to a warm, nurturing environment for the children.

Main duties
1. Support all staff team, particularly the Head Teacher and her teaching group.
2. To be flexible within working practices of setting. Be prepared to help where needed,
including
a. supporting teachers with their daily activities
b. lunch duties
c. washing up after snack and lunchtime
d. assist with outdoor learning
e. cleansing of equipment
f. keep toilets tidy
g. organising/storing equipment

3. Look upon the setting as a "whole" where can your help be most utilised, be constantly aware
of the needs of children
4. To advise the Principal and Head Teacher of any concerns e.g. children, parents or the
safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.

5. To ensure that children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection
procedures.
6. To actively participate at supervision meetings and appraisal meetings.
7. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other
staff, which is acquired as part of the job.
8. To be aware of and adhere to all the setting’s operational policies and procedures, e.g. health
and safety, fire precautions, dropping off and collection of children, food safety, cleanliness of
the setting etc.
9. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Principal and Head Teacher.
