We are a friendly family in the heart of Parson’s Green, London. I’m a single parent with a 7 year old and a 12 year old. Our incredible nanny who has been with us for nearly 3 years will sadly be moving on as she is looking to change careers, so we are looking for a new live-in nanny / housekeeper. I am looking for a kind, responsible, enthusiastic and organised nanny / housekeeper to help me with childcare and taking care of our home.
My ex-husband and myself share our children 50/50 across the year. When the children are with me, the role is full days, full time, 7 days a week including weekends. But the other half of the year when the children are not with me, you will not be required to work (their father has his own nanny for during their time with him).
We do rotations of varying length, usually the children are 1-2 weeks with me and then 1-2 weeks with their father, except for holiday periods where the rotations can be longer. That means usually 2 working weekends per month. The children’s schedule is agreed between their father and me 6-12 months in advance, so there is plenty of time for you to make your own plans in advance. This position will allow you a lot of spare time and flexibility for the half of the year when the children are not with me.

The children;
Girl age 7 and boy age 12. They are both well mannered, happy, kind and lively children. They love sports, card games, playing piano, drawing, painting and reading. On the weekends my son plays rugby in a team and my daughter enjoys going to the playground and they both like days out, visiting museums or other activities.

The schedule;
During the term time that the children are with me, the working hours are from 7.00am-7.30pm with a break for lunch. During school holidays that they are with me, flexibility is required to accommodate for travel. The nanny is expected to travel with mum and children if required (destinations within Europe and beyond). Both children sleep through the night, but I need a live-in nanny / housekeeper because sometimes I go out in the evening and require a responsible adult to be at home whilst they are sleeping.

Duties;
The childcare will include all usual nanny duties such as school drop off and pick up, cooking the children healthy meals, help with homework, taking them to extracurricular activities, booking playdates and medical appointments, doing bath and bedtime and on weekends helping to take them to activities or keeping them busy and entertained. The housekeeping will include standard tidying, cleaning, laundry, ordering online groceries and household items, helping me with general home admin and keeping the house looking presentable at all times.

Expectations;
We are looking for a positive, dynamic person who is punctual, reliable, trustworthy and who would like to become a part of our family! We have high expectations in terms of manners and education so you will need to be able to be firm with the children when required but also offer them patience, love and understanding. Our current nanny will do a full handover to show you everything you need to learn but we do expect that the nanny speaks good English and is able to help with homework. Italian is a bonus but not a requirement.

Accommodation;
Lovely and modern private room with ensuite bathroom, in a recently renovate townhouse on a beautiful safe street in Parson’s Green. I am happy for the nanny / housekeeper to stay in the house all year round if she wishes, not only when the children are with me.

Salary and others;
Salary is in the region of £30K gross salary p/a, dependant on experience. You will be employed on a Self- Employed basis, so please only apply if this is fine for you. We are looking for someone who would like to find a long-term position and become a valued member of our family, as it’s very important to me to create stability for the children. Minimum 2 years experience and references required.
