Part Time Nanny
Job Title: Part-Time Nanny (Afternoon/Evening)
Location: Richmond, Surrey (near Richmond Green)
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM, 20 hours pw (Flexibility on a Friday can be offered if required)
Overview:
We are seeking a caring, experienced nanny to provide reliable afternoon and evening care for a 9-month-old baby. The successful candidate will collect the child from day nursery, prepare dinner, oversee bath and bedtime routines, and ensure a nurturing, stimulating environment. Where possible around the baby’s schedule the family would require nursery duties to be completed. This role requires a warm, patient, and dependable individual who can form a genuine bond with the child and contribute to the family’s home life. Experience working with infants, as well as the ability to handle common childhood emergencies, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Childcare & Routine:
Collect the baby from local nursery promptly before 6:00 PM and 1/2 mile walk home.
Shop, prepare, and serve/feed dinner for the baby 5 days/week, ensuring age-appropriate and nutritious meals.
Oversee bath time and manage the bedtime routine, including lotion, dressing for bed, reading stories, bottle, and settling the baby to sleep.
Clean up after baby including dishes and tidying.
Child Development & Engagement:
Engage the baby in age-appropriate play, activities, and reading to foster early development and language skills.
Create a warm, positive environment to help build trust and strengthen the child’s emotional security.
Safety & Wellbeing:
Monitor the child’s well-being, promptly addressing any concerns and reporting them to the parents.
Be prepared to administer first aid or emergency medical care (such as CPR or EpiPen use) if necessary, following all safety protocols.
Essential Requirements:
Experience: Proven experience caring for infants (9+ months) with familiarity in feeding, bathing, and bedtime routines.
Qualifications: Current and valid Paediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
Skills:
Strong understanding of infant development.
Ability to engage in educational and stimulating activities.
Good organizational skills.
Attributes: Reliable, punctual, patient, kind, and capable of building a genuine relationship with the child and family.
Transport: Access to reliable personal or public transport for punctual nursery pick-up (nursery is walking distance to our home, so car is not necessary).
Checks: Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one), right to work in the UK, and valid references from previous employers.
Desirable:
Experience cooking healthy meals for children.
Training or qualifications in early childhood education.
