*The Role:*

A Chinese-American family in London is seeking a nanny or governess to care for their 4.5-year-old daughter. This live-in position is available until August 2025. The role involves a 6-day workweek, primarily focused on after-school hours, with flexibility required. The candidate will provide support for the child’s morning routine, after-school activities, and overall well-being. If this nanny speaks Mandarin Chinese, this would be a huge plus, but is not totally necessary.

The nanny/governess will prepare the little girl for her reception class in the mornings, including making breakfast and taking her to school when required, though this task is often handled by her father. After school, the role involves accompanying the child to various activities such as ballet, swimming, and piano, and ensuring she has appropriate snacks or stepping in when needed. While a chef prepares dinner, the nanny may need to assist occasionally.

The nanny will also engage the child in creative activities, such as drawing, painting, arts and crafts, and reading, fostering her curiosity and artistic interests. Building a strong connection with the child is key, as she is a happy, loving, but strong-willed little girl.

*The Candidate:*

The ideal candidate will be loving, mature, positive, and energetic, with a warm and musical disposition being an added bonus. While Mandarin language skills are preferred, they are not essential; the family prioritizes finding someone who can bond with the child and support her bilingual development. Experience working with young children, a nurturing attitude, and the ability to maintain a balance between discipline and warmth are essential qualities.

Candidates must have relevant childcare experience, excellent references, and the ability to work in a live-in capacity. Mandarin language skills are a plus but not mandatory. Flexibility, positivity, and the ability to build a connection with the child are essential.

This is a live-in position, and the candidate must be willing to travel with the family. Driving is not required.

*The Offer:*

Salary of up to £2,000 per week
4 weeks of paid vacation time
Option to extend the role in the USA at the end of the contract
