Arthur's House
Nanny
This family got in touch with Arthur’s House as they are looking for a nanny to care for their 6 month old boy when Mum returns to work this year. They would love to find someone who specialises in young children / babies and who will easily be able to add value to the role from day one. The role would suit someone who is calm, kind and positive and who is able to work in sole charge. The baby is in a good routine and would benefit from a schedule of activities in the home and classes outside of the home.
The Role
- Provide a nurturing and safe environment for the baby throughout the day
- Follow and maintain the baby's established sleeping and feeding schedule
- Prepare and feed age-appropriate meals and snacks as weaning begins
- Change nappies and maintain proper hygiene
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to support development
- Take baby on walks in Ravenscourt Park and the local area
- Research and attend suitable baby classes and activities in Shepherd's Bush
- Keep baby's areas clean and organised
- Maintain daily records of feeding, napping, and activities
- Sterilise bottles and maintain feeding equipment
- Organise and rotate age-appropriate toys
- Communicate effectively with parents about baby's daily progress
- Support physical development through tummy time and other exercises
- Engage in sensory play and early learning activities
The Person
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working with babies and young children
- Relevant childcare qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 3, NNEB, or equivalent)
- Current Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Enhanced DBS check
- Strong understanding of child development milestones
- Experience with sleep training and establishing routines
- Knowledge of weaning practices and baby nutrition
- Calm, patient, and nurturing personality
- Excellent communication skills
- Proactive and organised approach to childcare
- Physically fit and energetic
- Clean driving license preferred
- Excellent references from previous employers
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Flexible and adaptable to family needs
Start date 01/3/2025
Salary Up to £20 gross per hour (DOE)
Hours 8am - 6pm Mon-Fri
