An exciting opportunity has arisen for a professional, loving nanny to join a fun, young British family relocating to Crans-Montana, Switzerland, from Oxfordshire. This family of three, soon to expand, (baby boy due June 2025) is seeking a career nanny who is enthusiastic about providing high-quality childcare and supporting their active lifestyle within the UK, Switzerland, and during their travels.

Crans-Montana, a picturesque alpine town and resort, offers excellent amenities, social opportunities, and outdoor activities, with skiing in the winter months and a popular location for gold and hiking in the summer.

Initially, the nanny may join the family in the UK between January and March, with a full transition to Switzerland by the end of March. The family’s 3 year-old daughter will attend a nearby prestigious school, and they are looking for a long-term nanny who will grow with their family.

This role will involve a mix of sole charge, shared care. The family values a well-structured, routine-based approach at home and during travel to create a stable environment for their children. They aim to provide a natural, traditional childhood, steering clear of excessive screen time and sugary treats. Their daughter enjoys books, crafts, outdoor play, and other creative activities.

The family is warm, cheerful, and conscientious, looking for a like-minded nanny to build a strong bond with their children. They are open to candidates with Norland training or equivalent childcare qualifications. Accommodation will initially be within the family home (annex) within Oxfordshire, moving to an annex in Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality care for the family’s children, including planning engaging and age-appropriate activities.
Support daily routines, including meal preparation and batch cooking (nutritious, child-friendly meals – no allergies or intolerances, enjoys food!).
Perform light nursery duties such as tidying the children’s spaces and managing their laundry.
Accompany the family on holidays and work-related travel.
Hours and days are negotiable and flexible, early mornings not a must, main childcare through the day.
Adapt to a combination of sole charge, shared care, and proxy parenting as required.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

Fluent English speaker (French is a plus).
Significant experience with babies and young children, including planning developmental activities.
Warm, patient, and flexible personality with a genuine passion for childcare.
Physically active and confident outdoors, aligning with the family’s sporty lifestyle.
Competent driver (car provided).
Skills in skiing and swimming are advantageous.

Essential Requirements:

Up-to-date Enhanced DBS.
Recent Paediatric First Aid certification.
Right to work in Switzerland (EU/Swiss passport or a valid Swiss work permit).
Strong references from recent and relevant nanny positions.
Recognised childcare qualifications.
