We're a family of 3 living in idyllic Ashburton on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. We spent a year creating our dream home which has lovely views, a nice garden with a swimming pool, and is only a short walk from the vibrant town centre with shops, restaurants and other facilities.

I'm an investor and spend 2 days per week in London for work. My wife is a surgeon and works long hours with early starts and late finishes. Our daughter is about to turn 1 and is a happy, outgoing girl who loves to play and learn new things all the time. We also have an older cat that we adopted during covid who is entering her twilight years and likes an occasional chin rub.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a full time nanny to support us as we transition back to work, helping us look after our daughter and run our household. We are open to the role being on a live out basis if you live close enough or live in if you want to save the commute. We are looking for somebody to work Monday to Friday on a full time basis. Each week will be a little different given our work schedules, but in general, Monday and Tuesday will be an early start (7am) and later finish (7pm) whilst Wednesday to Friday will be an 8:30am start and a 5:30pm finish.

We love spending time and playing with our daughter when we are at home. This is why the role includes household responsibilities such as cooking evening meals for the family, tidying and doing laundry to enable us to have as much time as possible to do that.

Roles and responsibilities

- Providing care for our daughter in a safe and supportive manner, free from mobile phones and other screens.
- Engaging our daughter in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social development.
- Taking our daughter on regular outings like going to the park, library, swimming and playgroups/ playdates.
- Preparing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for our daughter and avoiding highly processed or unhealthy foods.
- Assisting with housekeeping tasks, such as cooking/evening meal preparation for the family, tidying, cleaning and laundry.

Experience and requirements

Prior experience (and ideally qualifications) as a nanny or in a similar role with excellent references.
Driver’s license and willingness to drive around the area with our daughter.
Ability to create a stimulating and engaging environment for our daughter.
Be willing to update parents a few times a day with photos.
Cantonese speaker preferred but not required.
Paediatric first aid certification required.
Current DBS certificate.
