Caring for G3.5 & B2.5, the ideal candidate will be experienced, energetic, and confident managing two active and curious young children, with a flexible and proactive approach. ABOUT THE FAMILY
This is the perfect role for someone looking to join a busy household full of fun and energy. The children are very outdoorsy and love anything active, scooting, dancing, tennis, horse-riding, swimming etc. but equally enjoy stories, writing, colouring and singing. They are kind, loving, bright, chatty and curious and need a nanny who can keep up with them, get involved with the fun and keep them busy! You’ll need to be confident managing two confident under 4’s and comfortable setting boundaries in a firm, but caring way.

Mum and dad are busy professionals who often work from home (usually out of sight) so the nanny must be comfortable taking sole-charge whilst the parents are at home. The family have a newborn due in September, the family will employ a maternity nurse but a nanny with newborn experience is desirable.

You will need a permit to work in Jersey and the family will support their new nanny with this process. Jersey is a stunning Island with a slow-paced way of life and is connected to 20 UK airports and two South England ports by Ferry.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Childcare: A mix of sole-charge and shared care of the children and managing all aspects of the nursery duties; keeping the playroom, bedrooms and shared areas tidy, changing the children’s sheets, managing their laundry etc. Making sure that the toys are in good shape and that the arts and crafts resources are stocked up.

- Meal Preparation: As well as being a strong & confident cook, the family would also appreciate you planning the weekly menu for the children and ensuring the groceries are ordered in time, popping to the shops for anything additional you might need. Being happy to cook for the parents during term time whilst the children are at nursery/school is very desirable.

- Arranging activities: The children love to be outdoors and the family home is a short drive to the beach. The children love to be engaged in all types of activities, running, skateboarding, painting etc.

- Housekeeping: The family have a cleaner but require help with housekeeping duties whilst the children are at nursery, e.g someone happy to iron their clothes and so on.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for a loving nanny who is:

- A confident driver: You will share school drop-offs and pick-ups with the parents. A car will be provided for your use.

- Outdoorsy: Jersey is a small Island with lots of natural beauty to offer so you will enjoy spending time outside, whatever the weather.

- Experienced: Ideally you have 2+ years of experience managing 2+ children in this age group and have proven experience with newborns.
A self-starter: With busy jobs and two very active and busy young children, you’ll need to be calm by nature, able to take initiative and have a ‘muck-in’ approach.

- A good communicator: The family value mutual trust and respect and want to build a collaborative relationship with their nanny. They have a good sense of humour so are looking for someone warm who can bond with all the family.

- Allergy aware: The little girl has a peanut allergy which is currently managed with antihistamines - epipen training and confident allergy awareness is a MUST.
