Nanny (Special needs)
CuroHelp.com is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN (Special Educational Needs) Nanny to support a private family based in London.
This role requires a professional with expertise in caring for children with additional needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing challenges, or learning differences.
The ideal candidate will provide a nurturing, structured, and patient approach while collaborating closely with parents, therapists, and educational specialists to create a consistent and supportive environment for the child.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide dedicated, one-to-one childcare for a child (or children) with special educational or developmental needs.
• Support daily routines including personal care, meals, education, therapy sessions, and recreational activities.
• Implement structured schedules to promote stability and comfort.
• Liaise with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent care strategies and communication.
• Develop and deliver stimulating, sensory-friendly, and educational activities suited to the child’s needs and abilities.
• Maintain a calm, safe, and positive environment to promote confidence and wellbeing.
• Record progress and observations to assist with developmental goals.
• Support the family with travel, appointments, and occasional overnight stays if required.
• Uphold the highest levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
Key Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Nanny or SEN Nanny, ideally within private households.
• Proven experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, or related SEN conditions.
• Qualifications in Special Educational Needs, Childcare, or Psychology (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEN Diploma, Early Years SENCO).
• Enhanced DBS check and Paediatric First Aid certification (current).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Warm, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances with calm professionalism.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
