Maternity Nanny – Chelmsford, Essex (Live-in, 24 hours Monday & Thursday)

Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency is delighted to be supporting a first-time family in Chelmsford who are seeking an experienced, calm, and nurturing Maternity Nurse to provide both practical and emotional support following the birth of their baby girl, due mid-December 2025.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a highly skilled maternity professional to guide and support new parents as they adjust to life with their newborn, offering reassurance, expertise, and gentle structure throughout the early weeks.

Schedule:

· Start Date: Monday 22nd December 2025

· Typical Pattern: Mondays and Thursdays – 24-hour live-in support

· Initial Week: Monday 22nd December and one additional day that week (likely Friday 26th December)

Role Responsibilities:

· Providing overnight and daytime newborn care to allow mum time to rest and recover after a planned c-section

· Supporting with breastfeeding, including latch and positioning guidance

· Helping to establish a gentle, age-appropriate feeding and sleeping routine

· Offering reassurance and emotional support to first-time parents, promoting confidence in their new roles to help them find their rhythm as parents

· Preparing light meals and snacks for mum to aid recovery

· Assisting with bathing, changing, settling, and general baby care

· Maintaining a calm, professional, and supportive presence in the home

Family Environment:
The family will be settled into their new home in Little Waltham (Chelmsford area) when the role begins. A private bedroom will be provided for the maternity nurse to rest between feeds.
There is a friendly 10-year-old British Bulldog in the home who will mainly stay in the conservatory.

Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet all of the usual Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency criteria, which include:

Candidate Requirements:
All maternity nurses represented by Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency must meet the following criteria:

· A recognised Maternity Nurse qualification MNT /NEST or equivalent

· A minimum of 10 years’ professional newborn experience, with recent checkable references

· A current Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

· Paediatric First Aid certificate

· Excellent communication skills and a calm, supportive approach

· A genuine passion for supporting families during the postnatal period

Experience with premature babies as baby will be delivered at 37 weeks
