Job Summary:
This role involves providing warm, hands-on childcare for a busy and active household of five children, with primary daytime care focused on the 1.5-year-old during term time. The nanny will manage daily routines, support homework, and plan engaging activities ranging from arts & crafts to outdoor play and day trips. Responsibilities also include school runs, assisting with grocery orders, and general child-related housekeeping with help from the housekeeper. The family value someone who can maintain structure, encourage positive behaviour, and support the children’s development and milestones.

The ideal candidate is energetic, outdoorsy, and playful, yet calm, patient, and professional. They should be confident caring for multiple children, experienced in private households, and able to balance fun with a firm-but-fair approach that reinforces manners and routine. The family are looking for someone who will genuinely integrate into their lives and be a positive, reliable influence on the children. A confident driver, comfortable handling a large vehicle or minivan is essential, as the children enjoy an active schedule filled with sports, clubs, and creative activities.


Job specification:
• Provide general childcare, including preparing snacks and lunches for school days and supporting with homework.
• Plan and organise engaging activities, keep the children entertained, and maintain their wardrobes.
• Play with the children and participate in baking, arts & crafts, outdoor time, and day trips, etc.
• Assist with grocery orders when needed.
• Support bath and bedtime routines.
• Manage school drop-offs and pick-ups (some children take the bus or attend clubs; schedules may vary).
• Maintain structure and routine; support skill development, milestones, and positive manners.
• Handle general child-related housekeeping, including tidying up after activities. (With assistance from the Housekeeper).
• Provide occasional babysitting / travel with the family – requested in advanced
• During term time, only the 1.5-year-old will be at home during the day.

Candidate specification:
• Active, energetic, and fun - fully engage with the children.
• Calm, patient, and able to balance being a friendly presence with maintaining professionalism.
• Uses positive reinforcement; firm but fair, offering choices and involving the children in daily tasks and activities.
• Organised, respectful, and capable of maintaining structure and routine.
• Able to teach and reinforce good manners, act as a positive role model, and be genuinely involved in the children’s lives.
• Experienced with caring for 3+ children at once and knowledgeable about working as a nanny in a private household.
• A confident driver with experience operating a large vehicle or minivan.

Enhanced DBS check required at offer stage & and a current First Aid Certificate
