About the Child: Rowen is a loving, happy 6-year-old who enjoys water play, being outdoors, soft play and watching Peppa Pig. He is autistic, non-verbal, and has a global developmental delay. Rowen requires full support with personal care and wears nappy pants. He communicates using AAC and PECS and can become dysregulated when communication is difficult or when overwhelmed, particularly by sudden noises. Safe movement breaks or screen time help him regulate.
The Role: You will provide dedicated weekend support to Rowen, helping reduce pressure on the family and allowing parents to enjoy quality time with both children. Support may involve accompanying the family on outings or taking Rowen out separately when needed, as well as planning and delivering tailored activities at home. Close supervision is essential when out in the community due to Rowen’s limited awareness of danger.
Who This Role Suits: A calm, patient, proactive SEN Nanny/Manny with strong experience supporting non-verbal autistic children. You’ll be confident using AAC/PECS, adaptable to family life, and able to bring creativity, consistency and reassurance to Rowen’s care.
Why You’ll Love This Role: A rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to family life while supporting Rowen’s development through fun, engaging, person-centred activities. The family are supportive and open to funding additional specialist training.
Recruitment Process: Snap Care is managing the full recruitment process, including shortlisting, recruiter interviews and employer interviews.
