Job Description
A kind, warm and inclusive family are seeking an experienced and flexible Temporary Nanny to care for their twin 5-year-old boys in the Falkland Islands. This is a unique opportunity for an adventurous nanny who enjoys the outdoors and travel.
The boys have speech and language difficulties, therefore a strong background and preferably formal training in Speech and Language is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will be patient, engaging and confident supporting communication through play and daily routines.
If the placement is successful, there may be the opportunity for additional cover during the summer period.
The family is ready to start interviewing immediately.

Dates & Travel
• Depart UK: 16th April
• Travel Route: UK ? Santiago, Chile ? Falkland Islands
• Arrival: 18th April
• Depart Falklands: 9th May
• Return to UK: Approx. 11th May
All flights, travel insurance and hotels en route are fully covered. An optional additional night in South America can be arranged at the nanny’s own expense if desired.

Working Hours
• School holiday period:
Monday – Saturday, 9:00am – 4:00pm
• Sunday off, though flexibility is essential
o Hours may shift slightly earlier or later if required (total weekly hours will remain the same)
o Days off may be swapped where necessary

Duties
• Sole charge care of twin boys
• Supporting speech and language development
• Planning age-appropriate and engaging activities
• Encouraging outdoor play and exploration
• Supporting routines during school holidays
• Accompanying the family during travel between Stanley and the farm

The boys are active and curious and enjoy:
• Outdoor play in all weather
• Dinosaurs
• Building and construction activities
• Walks, paddling and nature exploration

Location & Lifestyle
• Stanley: Capital settlement on East Falkland (village-style lifestyle)
• Leicester Creek Farm: On West Falkland, accessed by road/ferry or a 50-minute flight
• The role will include at least one week spent on the family farm
The family will ensure the nanny experiences the highlights of the Falklands, including:
• Penguin visits
• Guided tours of significant 1982 conflict sites
• Exploring Stanley and surrounding areas

Candidate Requirements
• Strong background in Speech and Language (training preferred)

• Comfortable with animals (dog, cat and sheep)
• Happy working outdoors in cold and windy conditions
• Flexible, adaptable and confident traveller (small plane and ferry)
