My husband & I live in Athens and we have 3 children; a 16 year old girl, an 8 year old boy & a 5 year old girl. As we have the two younger children our nanny would have to have good experience with looking after more than one child of that age range at at time. Our 16 year old doesn’t need ‘looking after’ but we would of course like our nanny to form a friendly relationship with her too. We are looking for a young, energetic, caring live in nanny, (to start March 2026). The role is as a nanny & there would also be some very light job related housekeeping, ie. tidying the kitchen & loading the dishwasher in the evening when I am finished cooking dinner & the kids have eaten, tidying away after kids breakfast/lunch etc. There would be no heavy cleaning, as we have a full time live out couple who comes every day for that.

I run our business with my husband from my office nearby, so we would be splitting the child care between us. I like to be a hands on mum when I can be, but with our business I need someone to help with the childcare. So this person needs to be flexible enough to work alongside me as well as alone.

The job would involve things like (but not limited to) helping with the children’s breakfast in the morning & getting them ready for school, tidying the kitchen after kids breakfast/lunch & loading the dishwasher, looking after our son & daughter alone when I am working/busy or together when I am not, keeping the children’s areas tidy, helping with the children's dinner/bath/bedtime routines, cleaning/tidying kitchen at end of the day once either she or I have finished preparing dinner, and maybe some cooking for the children if she is interested in doing that, and doing a final tidy of the playroom areas before she finishes for the day. Our children love to be artistic and creative, and also love to play outside.

Hours are technically 12 hours per day, however as mentioned the kids are usually at school every day from 8:30am-3pm. On days they are home sick or during school holidays there would of course be plenty of time for a break. School days she would start at 7:30am, weekends & holidays usually at 8-9am. We love to travel as a family, and do so often, to places all around the world, approximately 6-12 weeks per year during all of the children’s school holidays. And so we need someone who would be excited to do that with us. They would need either a valid passport or EU work visa, and be happy to travel with us and the children, sometimes for long periods up to 1 month away over the summer. Personal days off/holidays would need to be scheduled outside of the kids school holidays. Obviously daily schedules/hours when travelling would be different so our nanny would need to also be flexible with that. Finally we have 2 small dogs, so our nanny would need to be happy to help out with them if needed. Simple things like putting them in and out of the house at times.
Ultimately she must not only have good experience with children of 5-8 years old, but love being with them and be able to be enthusiastic & very creative in her care of them. What I am looking for is someone to help me in the daily upbringing of my children, so somebody I can trust and get along well with personally. She will be entrusted with the care of our children when we aren't there, and to work alongside me when I am there. My husband & I do have to travel abroad for work on a regular basis, so she would have to have experience & be comfortable with being sole charge with the children while we are away. (Keeping the monitors at night etc). Our housekeeper couple always stay at the house as well for any time my husband & I are both away, to help with the children. Salary on application. Job to start March-May 2026.
