Part Time Nanny
A warm, reliable, and kind nanny is needed. The ideal candidate is nurturing, proactive, and confident, managing daily routines while supporting the children’s emotional, social, and educational development.
The little girl will be three in May 2026, and her brother was born in November 2025. She is loving, caring, and very active. The baby is eating and sleeping well. They will have a nanny two days a week and attend daycare the other three days.
The family lives in a ground-floor apartment; it's a Dutch and English-speaking household.
Location: Overtoom/Vondelpark area, Amsterdam (close to a variety of transport links).
Schedule: Wednesdays & Fridays from 8 - 6 pm. If the nanny is interested, there is the possibility of occasional extra hours.
Commitment & contract length: The family is keen to build a long-term relationship with the nanny.
Passport and visa requirements: EU passport or Dutch residence permit.
Responsibilities and duties:
You will have sole charge of both children
Maintaining the children’s routines, including naps and mealtimes
Have a weekly plan for activities and adventures
Actively encourage the children's developmental milestones
Taking the children out and about
Arrange playdates
Prepare a wide range of healthy and wholesome meals and snacks for children, including supporting weaning the baby
Child-related housekeeping (tidying play areas, children’s laundry, empty dishwasher, etc.)
Communicate regularly with parents.
Experience, qualifications, approach, and skills:
Good level of English
High standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Candidates need previous experience caring for a baby and a toddler at the same time
Ideal candidates are kind and warm while being confident to maintain a boundary
Someone who will patiently help the children with their emotions
A nanny who naturally offers predictability and consistency
You must have a get-up-and-go approach, as the little girl loves being active
Being open to feedback is important
Organized, punctual, and discreet
Additional Details:
This is a live-out role; accommodation isn't provided
The Mum occasionally works from home (in a separate room from the family area)
There is access to a bakfiets, but it's not a requirement to cycle
The children are screen-free during the week
Interviews and trials are starting immediately
The family will arrange employment
Hourly rate: €20 - 22. If you are eligible to claim childcare allowance, the hourly rate offered is €20 - 25.
Agency requirements:
3 years of full-time professional childcare experience
Valid pediatric first aid
A recent police check or DBS, and the DBS update system
Written references and a minimum of 3 verbal references.
