Nanny
Full-time Nanny needed for twins in busy household
Arthur’s House is acting on behalf of a private family based in Barons Court (W14) who are welcoming twins later this year The family has four children already (ages 7, 6, 4, and 18 months) and benefits from an established support system. We are seeking an experienced, calm, and adaptable nanny to support daytime care of the newborn twins, provide wraparound help at busy times and act as a general support in this busy and getting busier household.
Location: Near Barons Court, London
Start date: May 2026
Current household support (for context):
- Existing nanny/housekeeper (live-out) 5 days per week, 9:00am–7:00pm (family would like to retain this person long-term)
- Night nurse/maternity nurse secured for nights from September, 9:00pm–7:00am (nights only)
Role overview:
- Primary focus: confident, hands-on care of the twins during the day
- Secondary support: assist with the older children during busy transitions when needed
- Household support: light housekeeping duties connected to the children and the smooth running of the home
- Maintain clear communication with parents and other household staff about routines, development, and day-to-day priorities
- Keep a calm structure to the day, tracking naps, feeds, and key milestones for both babies
- Proactively identify what support is needed at pinch points and step in where appropriate (within nanny scope)
- Support safe, age-appropriate outings and activities as the twins grow (local walks, baby groups, playdates)
- Help ensure the nursery and baby equipment are stocked, clean, and set up for the day (nappies, wipes, changing stations)
Core responsibilities:
- Provide developmentally appropriate, attentive care for the newborn twins
- Support feeding and settling routines during daytime hours (in coordination with the family and night nurse)
- Assist with the morning and after-school rush (including coverage around 6:30am–9:00am where required)
- Help with children’s laundry, nursery upkeep, and keeping children’s areas tidy and well organised
- Prepare bottles, sterilise equipment, and maintain hygiene routines
- Coordinate with and work with the existing nanny/housekeeper to ensure continuity and consistency of care
- Pack and organise for travel as needed
Key requirements:
- Confident managing two babies simultaneously while working within the household
- Warm, discreet, and professional with strong boundaries and excellent judgement
- Organised, reliable, and flexible with a collaborative approach (need to be willing to work with others for the overall goal)
- Strong English speaker
- Legally able to work in the UK
Schedule & flexibility:
- The family is flexible and open to tailoring the schedule for the right candidate
- Ideal coverage includes:
- Weekday early morning support: 6:30am–9:00am (daily)
- Weekend availability: willingness to work some weekends, potentially longer days (up to 7:00am–8:00pm)
- Open to considering two part-time hires to share coverage, if that creates the best overall solution
Compensation:
- £22-24 gph
- 55 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
- Opportunity for overtime and additional hours traveling and weekends
Desirable:
- Driver (not required, but helpful)
- Recent experience caring for twins (newborn and infant stage)
Travel:
- Must be open to travel through the year
