A loving private family based in Notting Hill, London, is seeking a warm, discreet, and highly experienced live-in rota nanny to care for their two young children aged 3 years and 1 year.
This is a shared-care role, and the family would like a nanny who has experience working in shared-care arrangements and who is comfortable working alongside parents in a respectful and collaborative manner.
The nanny will work opposite another rota nanny who is already in post. The rota is 1 week on / 1 week off when in London and 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off when travelling.
This position would suit a professional nanny who values long-term stability, discretion, and supporting early childhood development within a structured private household environment.
The family works from home frequently and is seeking a nanny with high emotional intelligence, a calm presence, and a clear understanding of supporting parents while respecting household dynamics and expectations.
The nanny should also have experience caring for children of a similar age with a strong interest in routine, particularly around child development, milestones, and sleep.
Key Responsibilities
Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally focused care at all times
Support age-appropriate learning, routines, and milestone development
Plan and engage the children in educational, creative, and outdoor activities
Maintain structured routines around meals, naps, and bedtime
Prepare healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for the children
Maintain excellent organisation of all child-related areas, including bedrooms, playrooms, and bathrooms
Manage children’s laundry, ironing, and wardrobe organisation
Clean and tidy after meals, activities, and daily routines
Organise outings, playdates, and development-focused activities
Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, offering thoughtful input when appropriate
Work collaboratively with parents and other household staff with discretion and respect
Candidate Profile
Minimum 10 years’ experience working within private households
Strong experience caring for babies and toddlers with a sound understanding of child development
Experience working in shared-care roles
Ideally, previous rota nanny experience
Demonstrated longevity in previous roles (ideally 4+ years with the same families)
Caring, reliable, honest, energetic, and highly organised
Calm, emotionally intelligent, and supportive in approach
Loyal and seeking a long-term position
Discreet, professional, and respectful of household boundaries
Proactive, flexible, and solutions-focused
Confident communicator with low ego and high empathy
Requirements
Proven experience as a rota or full-time nanny in private households
Relevant childcare qualifications preferred
Fluent English (additional languages a bonus)
Enhanced DBS
Up-to-date First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Additional Details
The nanny will live in during working weeks and will have their own room and bathroom
There is some travel involved, where the family will be accompanied by one of the nannies
There are no pets
