Live-In Nanny / Family Assistant

A warm, professional family based in Germany is seeking an experienced live-in Nanny / Family Assistant to join their household on a long-term basis. This is a varied and rewarding role combining high-quality childcare with family assistant and light household support. A sporty, energetic nanny- family assistant is important to them, as they are a very sporty, active household, and they think a good fit will lead to a long term placement, which is what they are looking for. The daughter does a lot of sports after school and the son competes in competitions regularly.

Eligibility Requirements
EU passport or unrestricted right to work in Germany (essential)
Fluent English is essential; German is highly desirable (English fluency is the priority)
Confident driver with a valid licence
The Family
The family has two children:

A boy aged 14
A girl aged 7 (turning 7 by the end of the summer)
Both children attend school full-time. The parents have demanding professional lives: the mother works from home three days per week and travels for work two days per week, while the father travels frequently. The family is friendly, respectful, and values long-term relationships— their current nanny has been with them for five years.

Grandparents live nearby and a trusted cleaner attends once per week.

The Role
This is a live-in, five-day-per-week position with flexibility required. The role is best suited to someone who enjoys being a true family assistant and is happy to “muck in” where needed.

Key responsibilities include:

Primarily caring for the younger child, including school runs and afternoon activities
Supporting both children with routines and ensuring homework is completed
Proxy parenting on occasion, including some evenings and occasional weekends (always with notice)
Light household support such as:
Laundry
Occasional cooking
General household organisation
Assisting with childcare logistics when the parents are travelling
Occasional travel within Europe when the family is organising events
There is significant downtime during the day while the children are at school, making this an excellent role for someone seeking balance alongside responsibility.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be:

Energetic, active, and outdoors-loving
Sporty and creative, with an interest in arts and crafts
Musical (or at least music-friendly), as the children have regular music practice
Confident around animals (the family has horses and dogs)
Organised, reliable, and proactive
Warm, calm, and capable of managing responsibility independently
A positive attitude, flexibility, and genuine enjoyment of family life are essential.

Accommodation
The nanny/family assistant will have their own private annexe, offering complete independence and privacy. This includes:

Private entrance
Kitchen
Bedroom
Lounge/living area
The family provides access to two cars and a bicycle.

€60,000 gross per annum
