Nanny Housekeeper – 4 Children (9, 7, 5, 3)

A warm, busy family with four children aged 9, 7, 5 and 3, relocating to a large country home in Dorset this summer. The home has substantial grounds and a tennis courts. Looking for a long-term nanny housekeeper who will become a trusted, valued part of the household – someone who genuinely enjoys being with children and takes pride in a well-run home.
The role is 40+ hours per week, Monday to Friday, and can be offered as live-in or live-out for the right candidate.
A separate cleaner will be employed to do all heavy/domestic cleaning (bathrooms, floors, full house cleans, dusting and deep kitchen work). The nanny housekeeper will focus on the children, family laundry and ironing, daily housekeeping and household organisation, plus occasional cooking as outlined below.
The Role
This is a true nanny housekeeper position, with childcare and household organisation carrying equal weight. The successful candidate will share care of the children with the parents, and take full charge at times, while keeping the household running smoothly day to day. A cleaner will handle regular deep and domestic cleaning. The nanny housekeeper’s role is to keep the home organised and running smoothly around the family’s needs.

Proxy Parenting and Overnights
The family occasionally needs support when one or both parents are away.
When parents travel, the nanny housekeeper will sometimes take 24hr responsibility for the children, including school runs, mealtimes and bedtime.
In addition, around 3–4 times a month, the nanny housekeeper may be asked to stay over as an extra pair of hands alongside the mother when the husband is travelling. All proxy-parenting and overnight stays will be planned in advance as far as possible, with the additional daily hours paid at the same hourly rate between 7am and 7pm, plus a flat rate for the overnight proxy parenting.
Housekeeping Duties (with Separate Cleaner)

Confident, experienced sole-charge carer for multiple children, including overnights when needed.
Happy to work in partnership with hands-on parents on some days and independently on others.
Confident, home-style cook, able to prepare simple, healthy meals and occasional family/batch cooking.
Discreet, trustworthy and professional, with good communication skills.
Clean driving licence (essential).
Up-to-date DBS and strong, checkable references from previous families.
Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Package
Hours: 40+ hours per week, Monday–Friday.
Salary: £45,000+ gross per year, depending on experience and live-in vs live-out.
Live-in option: Private bedroom and bathroom with all bills included.
Holiday: 20 days per year (excluding bank holidays)
Proxy parenting: Additional hours between 7am – 7pm paid at hourly rate. Flat overnight rate paid between 7pm – 7am.
Start date: Summer 2026 preferable but September potentially for right candidate.
