Night Nanny
A warm and welcoming family is seeking a highly experienced Night Nanny to support them with their newborn twins, due mid to late August 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a calm, knowledgeable, and confident professional with extensive twin experience, who can guide first-time (or growing) parents through the early months and help establish healthy routines from the outset.
Role Overview
The Night Nanny will be responsible for all overnight care of the twins, ensuring they are well-fed, settled, and comfortable throughout the night, while allowing parents to rest and recover.
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of newborn and twin experience, offering both practical support and reassurance during this key stage.
Schedule
Start: Mid / Late August 2026
End: December 2026 (approx. 12 weeks)
Working pattern:
Month 1: Alternate nights (approx. 9:00pm – 7:00am)
Month 2: Approx. 3 nights per week
Month 3: Approx. 2 nights per week
(Schedule may be adjusted slightly depending on how things progress and the family’s needs.)
Duties
- Full overnight care of newborn twins
- Supporting feeding routines (breastfeeding support where appropriate or bottle preparation)
- Settling and soothing both babies
- Managing night wakings confidently and calmly
- Monitoring sleep patterns and gently helping establish healthy routines
- Keeping the nursery organised and tidy
- Sterilising bottles and preparing feeds for the night
- Maintaining a calm, quiet, and supportive overnight environment
- Providing guidance and reassurance to parents when needed
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience caring for newborn twins (essential)
- Strong understanding of newborn sleep and feeding routines
- Calm, patient, and highly organised approach
- Confident working independently overnight
- Excellent communication skills
- Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain)
- Relevant childcare qualifications (desirable)
Additional Information
- The family is looking to transition into daytime support from around 12 weeks, so this role may naturally lead into (or be followed by) a separate daytime position.
Start date 01/8/2026
Salary £25 per hour
Hours 9pm-7am, for first month, then taper off. Perhaps 3 nights per week in 2nd month, 2 nights in 3rd month. Depending on how it’s going. Would then probably look for some daycare after 12 weeks
