Pumpkins Nanny Agency
Nanny
We have a lovely family that we have worked with before who are looking for a 1:1 PA/Nanny for their little girl. She is a fun loving cheeky little girl. Having cerebral palsy means that she currently can’t sit or stand unassisted. She is also tube-fed and non-speaking. Despite her physical challenges she is a very active child, that loves sports, especially football (which she plays in her walker).
Her parents work around inaccessibility and the barriers thrown their way and are looking for someone that would support little one in the same way.
The little girl attends the local mainstream school part time and the rest of the time she is home schooled whilst working on her independence with the help of different therapies.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Helping with regular physio to reach the ultimate goal of little one being able to stand and take steps independently
- Attend school with her one afternoon a week (and potentially be able to cover in case her 1:1 was unable to attend)
- Help out at home a few hours a week looking after her independently
This is a part time role which would be perfect for someone with a physio or speech and language background but this is not essential. The most important thing for is to find someone lovely and outgoing, that is happy to work together with the family and provide support where needed.
The person must be timely, reliable, have a good work ethic, be super creative in terms of play and have heaps of initiative to help make life more inclusive and accessible for their daughter. The family might also need some help with pickup for their other children a couple of times a week. In general the role is quite flexible in terms of hours for the right person.
The hours are 8am-5pm one day, 1-5pm on one day and 9am-2pm on a Saturday. Please note that hours are very flexible for the right candidate and there is scope to increase over time.
Flexible start date for the right person.
£22-£25 gross per hour.
