Job Summary
A private family based in Essex is seeking a professional, nurturing, and highly experienced Live-Out Nanny to care for their 9-month-old daughter.
The family are looking for a calm, safety-conscious, and developmentally focused nanny who can confidently manage all aspects of infant care while working closely with the parents to support the child’s routine, wellbeing, and developmental milestones.
This is a sole-charge role suited to a candidate with excellent baby experience, strong communication skills, and a warm, proactive nature.
Job Specification
Childcare Duties:
Sole care of a 9-month-old baby girl
Managing the baby’s daily routine including feeds, naps, bathing, and bedtime preparation
Preparing healthy meals and snacks
Organising stimulating, age-appropriate activities
Supporting developmental milestones including crawling, standing, walking, language, and sensory development
Creating a nurturing, language-rich environment
Taking the child on outings and outdoor activities where appropriate
Nursery Duties:
Baby laundry and wardrobe organisation
Sterilising bottles and equipment
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of nursery and play areas
Managing feeding schedules and daily logs
Safety & Wellbeing:
Maintaining safe sleep practices
Ensuring high hygiene standards
Monitoring the baby’s health and wellbeing
Recognising signs of illness and responding appropriately
Following emergency procedures where necessary
Supporting a safe and secure home environment
Communication:
Providing daily handovers to parents
Working collaboratively with the family
Maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times
Candidate Specification
Minimum 3–5 years’ professional baby experience
Strong experience caring for infants in private households
Warm, calm, patient, and emotionally intuitive
Paediatric First Aid and Infant CPR essential
Confident managing developmental milestones and routines
Knowledge of weaning, sensory play, and infant development
Childcare qualifications preferred (CACHE, NNEB, NVQ or equivalent)
Maternity nurse or newborn care experience advantageous
Knowledge of Montessori principles, baby lead weaning, and gentle sleep methods beneficial
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Fluent English speaker
Non-smoker
Enhanced DBS and excellent references required
Swimming ability preferred
Compliance
Enhanced DBS required at offer stage.
