A warm, down-to-earth family in Barnes is looking for a kind, experienced nanny to care for their baby son, born in April 2026. He will be 4.5 months old at the start of the role in August, and they are hoping to find someone who will grow with him long-term. Both parents work full time in demanding jobs and are committed to building a close, collaborative relationship with their nanny. They want someone who feels like a true part of the team who will be involved, trusted, and valued. They also have a friendly dog at home although no dog care is needed, but you should be comfortable having a little cuddle with him too.

This is a sole-charge position covering all aspects of day-to-day baby care: implementing and maintaining good routines, bottle preparation, weaning support and introducing healthy foods when he's ready, laundry, and keeping his spaces clean and tidy. As first-time parents, they'd love a nanny who can offer reassurance and guidance as their son reaches each new stage. They would love their nanny to suggest age-appropriate activities, organise playdates, and help him reach his developmental milestones through fun, engaging play that encourages curiosity, imagination, and a love of books.

The ideal candidate is passionate about working with babies and toddlers and genuinely loves what they do. You'll be warm, calm, and empathetic, as well as reliable, organised, and proactive. A confident communicator who can take the lead while respecting the family's parenting values, you'll have a natural ability to make little ones feel safe and secure.

DAYS: Monday to Friday

HOURS: TOTAL = 54 per week – Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 6:30pm and Fridays 8am to 6pm

SALARY: Excellent market rate based on experience and qualifications

Requirements:
• At least 8 years working as a nanny with babies from 4 months, with longevity in previous roles
• Excellent checkable references
• Childcare qualifications and professional development, or previous nursery experience, are valued
• A very good understanding of milestones and stages of development for babies from 4 months and young children in the first 5 years
• Experience supporting with weaning, feeding, and following routines
• Confident to cook healthy and nutritious meals for a baby from scratch
• Able to help socialise the child through arranging playdates and taking him to activities
• Able to engage in a safe, positive, fun, and interactive way both indoors and outdoors
• Open and flexible to support with occasional babysitting with advance notice or work slightly later if parents have work deadlines

Duties:
• All nursery duties, keeping the baby's areas clean, tidy, and organised
• Feeding, changing, and all general care for the baby
• Following and adapting routines as he grows, such as nap times, to allow for consistency
• Supporting with weaning and preparing fresh, healthy meals from scratch
• Stimulating development through conversation, play, music, books, art, and age-appropriate activities
• Taking him for daily walks, playing outdoors, and exploring London
• Suggesting and taking him to local activities, classes, museums, and galleries
• Organising playdates to support his social development
• Organising his clothes and rotating his toys, or suggesting new ones to buy
• Attending medical appointments such as GP visits if required
• Keeping parents updated with photos and videos when appropriate
• Babysitting occasionally if needed, with advance notice given
