Maternity Nurse
A wonderful long-term maternity nurse role supporting first-time parents with their newborn, focusing on breastfeeding, routines and building confidence within a warm family home.
Job Summary
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maternity Nurse to support first-time parents following the arrival of their baby. Dad travels regularly for work, so the family are looking for a calm, dependable professional who can provide reassurance and continuity whilst helping mum build confidence during the early months. They are hoping to breastfeed, with expressing if appropriate, but are open to options and would like a maternity nurse who can provide good advice and reassurance. Mum enjoys structure and would love somebody who can gently establish healthy feeding and sleeping habits. The family are looking for a maternity nurse who leads with experience whilst allowing them to develop their own confidence and parenting style. They would particularly value someone who enjoys teaching and explaining the reasoning behind their approach without being overly prescriptive. The role will initially be 6 days per week whilst dad is travelling more frequently, reducing to 5 days as family life settles. Flexibility around days off will be appreciated, and candidates should be comfortable around the family's friendly Alsatian, who lives with the grandparents but visits regularly.
