Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM (plus 5 hours of babysitting per week including Friday night; 25 hours total) / Pay: £18net - £20 net per hour / Start day: September 2026
Children: Two girls, aged 9 and 12
Location: Currently based in Kensington W8 (school is in Hammersmith)
About the Role & The Girls
Children are entering very different, exciting phases next year. We are looking for a warm, intuitive after-school nanny who can naturally adapt to both of their distinct needs:
The 9-year-old is entering a new class in September (Y5), excited about making new friends, and keeps a demanding schedule with sports and music. Your vital focus helping her stay on track with her after school routine while keeping her days playful and joyful (like organizing playdates, or baking together after she finishes her reading!).
The 12-year-old is becoming increasingly independent, spending more time studying and with friends. Your role here is a "hands-off," supportive presence. She needs a trusted adult to come home to—someone to check in on how she is doing, ensure social or academic stress isn't getting to her, and act as a safe sounding board as she navigates healthy friendships.
Daily Responsibilities
School Pick-up & Logistics: Collecting our 9-year-old from school in Hammersmith and her various after-school activities.
Routine & Development: Ensuring she reads aloud to you and practices her music daily. (We handle all homework ourselves on weekends/evenings, so no heavy academic tutoring required).
Nourishment & Cooking: Because the youngest has a packed schedule and tends to eat poorly at school, preparing healthy, nourishing meals for the entire family is a key part of the job. You will have many windows to focus on cooking on the days she has a late after-school club (until 4:30, sometimes later) or during her at-home piano lessons.
Light Tidying: Keeping the kitchen and children's spaces tidy and organized.
The Ideal Candidate
An active, reliable, and emotionally intelligent professional who can balance being a structured, organized guardian for an active 9-year-old and a supportive friendly adult for a 12-year-old.
Proactive about diary management (scheduling playdates and balancing activity drop-offs).
Someone who genuinely loves finding joyful moments in the afternoon routine.
