A proactive and kind nanny/family assistant is needed. Your focus will be caring for the children and helping to ensure the smooth running of the household.

The eldest attends a local Dutch school full-time, and her younger sister is currently in daycare and will start school in Spring 2027. Both children are active and enjoy swimming, art, and reading.

Vital requirements: EU passport or Dutch resident permit.

Location: Currently, the family lives close to Willemspark; they will be moving to Buitenveldert in 2027.

Days: Two or three days, Monday - Thursday, ideally not Fridays.
Ideally, three weekdays of eight hours per day. Happy to also consider two days per week, ten hours per day.

Hours: TBD, finish time will be confirmed either 6 pm or 7 pm.

Very occasionally, they might ask for some help on a weekend or to travel with the family (not a requirement).

Commitment & contract length: Seven months, with the likelihood of extending if it's working well.

Responsibilities and duties:
Provide attentive and engaging care to the children, including school pick up, hosting playdates, and taking them to activities
Ensuring the house is tidy and organised
Organising the children's clothes, including clearing out clothes that are too small
Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities
Child-related housekeeping, including tidying play areas, unloading and loading the dishwasher, etc
Assisting with family laundry
Groceries and running errands
Some assistance with cooking healthy, simple meals for the children and parents might be needed
Someone with an eye for detail who is happy to use their initiative, e.g, if the milk is running out, purchases some more.

Experience, qualifications, approach, and skills:
Enthusiastic about building a strong relationship with the children and performing family assistant duties
A nanny whose approach encourages clear boundaries and actively involves the children in making decisions
Experience in similar roles, familiar with what needs doing, and happy to use your initiative
Confident, open, honest communicator
A forward thinker who is keen to help the household run smoothly
Very organised and efficient
Candidates need to speak a high level of English
Very strong preference for someone happy to cycle a bakfiets.

In general, Mum works mainly in an office, and Dad works partly from home and partly in an office
Payroll and employment contract provided directly by the family (also happy to discuss home services scheme if candidate prefers).

Agency requirements:
3 years of full-time professional childcare experience
Valid pediatric first aid
A recent police check or on the DBS update system
Written references and a minimum of 3 verbal references.
