Part-Time Nanny (Long-Term) – Lode, Cambridgeshire
Location: Lode, Cambridgeshire
Hours: 16 hours per week (Monday–Thursday, 1:00pm–5:00pm - also happy to consider 12h per week, Tuesday-Thursday 1:00 - 5:00 - some flexibility for the right person.)
Start date: Flexible – anytime between now and September
Salary: Competitive, depending on qualifications
We are a friendly family based in the village of Lode, just outside Cambridge, looking for a kind, engaging and dependable nanny to become a long-term part of our son's life.
Our son is three years old and will be attending school on a mornings-only basis from September. We are looking for someone to care for him during the afternoons in our home. We are hoping to find someone who will build a lasting relationship with him over the coming years.
Our preference is for a live-out nanny, although we would be happy to consider a live-in arrangement for the right candidate.
About the role
I will collect our son from school and give him lunch before you arrive, so your afternoons will be focused on spending quality time together through play, activities and outings. In the rare cases that I have a meeting at lunchtime, I might ask you if you are available to start sooner and collect him from school. This would of course be compensated as overtime or could be turned into a regular arrangement if it works well for both sides.
I work from home and will usually be in a separate space in the house, while giving you responsibility for our son during your working hours and making sure not to disturb you or distract him.
About us
We are an open-minded family of three. We value nature, connection, and diversity. We live in a beautiful barn conversion just outside the village Lode with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Our son is a curious, imaginative, and active little boy who loves:
* Reading books
* Arts and crafts
* Pottering in the garden
* Helping with simple DIY projects
* Exploring and asking lots of questions
As a family, we place a high value on creativity and instilling a love for learning. We're looking for someone who enjoys nurturing children's curiosity, encouraging independence, and creating fun, engaging afternoons filled with conversation, books, imaginative play and outdoor adventures.
There are currently no pets in the household.
We would also be very happy to consider a parent who would like to bring along their own child, provided everyone is a good fit.
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
* Warm, patient and dependable
* Creative and enthusiastic
* Confident caring for young children independently
* Happy to plan engaging, age-appropriate activities
* Looking for a long-term role
SEND experience would be welcomed but is not essential.
We require DBS, first aid, and references.
If this sounds like a role you'd enjoy, we'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch with a little about yourself, your experience and qualifications, your availability, salary expectations, and what appeals to you about the role.
