A Maternity Nurse role supporting first-time parents with overnight newborn care, feeding and routine development in Putney, London. Start Date: 5th August 2026 (a flexible start a few days later can be accommodated)


A first-time family are looking to appoint an experienced Maternity Nurse following the arrival of their baby. With no local family support, they are keen to find someone who can offer reassurance, expert guidance and help them build confidence during the early weeks of parenthood. The family's priority is ensuring both Mum and baby are well supported. They would appreciate guidance with feeding, establishing gentle newborn rhythms and helping the whole family settle into life with their first baby. Ideally, they are looking for a Spanish-speaking Maternity Nurse, although the right experience and personality will remain their priority. The family are ideally looking for a flexible Maternity Nurse who is happy to adapt their working pattern, providing a combination of daytime and overnight support as the family's needs change throughout the booking. Dad explained that the focus is very much on ensuring Mum and baby are well supported, so they are looking for someone calm, knowledgeable and adaptable who can respond to their changing needs during the early weeks.

• Providing overnight care for a newborn baby
• Supporting breastfeeding and/or bottle feeding as required
• Encouraging gentle newborn routines and healthy sleep foundations
• Monitoring the baby's wellbeing throughout the night
• Providing reassurance and practical guidance to first-time parents
• Undertaking all nursery duties during working hours
• Adapting between daytime and overnight support as the family's needs evolve throughout the booking

Candidate Specification
• Extensive newborn experience as a Maternity Nurse
• Confident supporting first-time parents
• Excellent knowledge of infant feeding and newborn sleep
• Spanish speaker preferred
• Flexible and happy to adapt between daytime and overnight working patterns as required
• Calm, professional and reassuring manner
• Kind, patient and easy to have around
• Excellent checkable references
