Rotananny
Family in South East London are seeking an experienced, emotionally intelligent Companion / Support Rota Nanny to support a teenager (with SEN requirements) and their younger teenage sibling, within a well-established but evolving household setup.
The household is cultured, articulate and humorous, with a mix of formality and informality. This is a challenging but rewarding role for the right person.
The eldest sibling is highly articulate, intelligent and engaging. This role is less traditional childcare and more companion-style support — someone confident, patient and resilient, who can build trust, spark motivation and gently encourage engagement with the world.
The elder sibling responds strongly to people: They either click or they don’t. The successful candidate will be firm, warm, calm under pressure and able to use humour to de-escalate situations if needed.
The younger sibling requires far less support, but the role will include occasional oversight, possible proxy parenting on occasion, practical help and a calm, consistent presence within the household.
The Role:
This is a supportive, companion-based role, not a traditional Nanny position. You will work alongside the team and parents, with increasing independence over time.
Key responsibilities include:
• Acting as a companion to both and emotional support for both teenagers
• Encouraging engagement through outings, activities, trips and interests
• Driving older sibling to appointments
• Supporting with simple meal preparation
• Helping establish gentle structure without enforcing rigid routines
• Being a calm, consistent presence during emotionally heightened moments
• Supporting the wider household as needed — practical, hands-on approach
• Occasional proxy parenting during travel periods
Hours & Schedule
• Rotational with another nanny: usually 5 days on, 2 days off, then 2 days on and 5 days off.
• Likely days: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday every other week, but changeable (flexibility required)
• 10–12 hours per day
• Full-time salary offered in exchange for flexibility
• Possible travel with family
• Some proxy parenting required during parents’ travel
Candidate Requirements
• Must be a confident driver (car provided)
• Background ideally in one of:

• Emotionally resilient, patient and confident
• Strong sense of humour — humour is central to the household dynamic
• Calm, articulate, intelligent and practical
• Able to build trust without being overbearing
• Comfortable in a role that can be intense, nuanced and non-linear
While at times challenging, this is a deeply impactful role with genuine benefits:
• Meaningful one-to-one work
• A cultured, international family
• Competitive salary
• Opportunity to make a real difference at a critical life stage
• Friendly and supportive long term team to work alongside
