A UHNW family based in Dubai is seeking an exceptional, highly experienced Governess / SEN-Trained Governess to provide educational, developmental and pastoral support for two children aged 4 and 2 years old within a fully staffed private household.

This is primarily a Governess and child-development role rather than a traditional nanny position. The successful candidate will take an active role in the children’s education, development, behaviour, routines and overall progression, working closely with the parents, school/nursery, nannies and wider household team.

A UHNW family based in Dubai is seeking an exceptional, highly experienced and proactive Governess to provide educational, developmental and pastoral support for two children aged 4 and 2 years old within a fully staffed private household. A 6-year-old is also present within the household, although there is no childcare responsibility required for this child.

This is primarily a Governess and child-development role rather than a traditional nanny position. The successful candidate will take an active role in the children’s education, development, behaviour, routines and overall progression, working closely with the parents, school/nursery, nannies and wider household team.

The family are particularly interested in candidates who have SEN training or substantial professional experience supporting children with additional learning, behavioural, sensory, attention or developmental needs.

The ideal candidate will be warm and nurturing but also confident, structured and consistent. They should be capable of setting appropriate boundaries, encouraging independence and managing challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.

The Governess will take responsibility for supporting the children’s educational and developmental progress, creating engaging and age-appropriate learning opportunities.

For the 4-year-old, this will include supporting early literacy, phonics, reading, handwriting, numeracy and school-readiness skills, as well as reinforcing learning from school through structured but enjoyable activities at home.

For the 2-year-old, the Governess will introduce developmentally appropriate early learning through play, books, language, music, sensory activities and exploration.

The Governess will encourage curiosity, confidence, independence, concentration and a genuine enjoyment of learning. She will identify areas where either child may require additional support, develop appropriate strategies and monitor their educational and developmental progress.

Strong SEN and behavioural experience is essential. The Governess should be confident supporting attention and concentration difficulties, sensory needs, emotional regulation, behavioural challenges and developmental needs. She should be able to recognise triggers and patterns in behaviour and implement calm, consistent and appropriate strategies.
