Nanny-Housekeeper
A wonderful two-day Nanny/Housekeeper opportunity is available for an experienced, proactive and organised professional to join a warm and friendly family of four in their beautiful St Albans home.
The family is looking for someone to build a long-term relationship with them, supporting their two happy and active boys, aged three and one, as they grow and progress through childhood and into school.
The hours will be Thursday and Friday, 07.00–19.30 (25 hours/week). Additional hours by mutual agreement and paid as overtime.
The children have a much-loved nanny Monday–Wednesday, so excellent communication and teamwork are essential. You will work closely with the existing nanny and parents to ensure consistency and a smoothly run household.
The main focus will be providing warm, nurturing and engaging care for the boys. They attend nursery approximately 07.30–15.30 on your working days, so the role includes wraparound care, nursery drop-offs and pick-ups. As they transition to school, the role will evolve to include full childcare during the school holidays (approximately 18 weeks per year).
The parents encourage an active, varied childhood and are happy for the nanny to take the children on outings and adventures, such as farms, soft play and other child-friendly activities, as well as enjoying plenty of play at home and in the garden.
During nursery hours, you will support the organisation and smooth running of the household. A weekly cleaner is already in place, so the focus is on house management, organisation and keeping everything running seamlessly between cleans.
Responsibilities include:
• Managing family laundry, with most outsourced
• General tidying and keeping the household running smoothly
• Keeping children’s spaces organised and well maintained, including toy rotation
• Preparing lunchboxes, uniforms, sports kits and other essentials
• Managing groceries, including meal planning, ordering and unpacking deliveries
• Keeping the fridge organised and checking dates
• Family-friendly meal planning and cooking, with homemade meals encouraged
• Managing school administration and researching activities and classes
• Organising children’s wardrobes and outgrown clothing
• Managing deliveries, collections, post office trips and other errands
• Supporting general household organisation and administration
The ideal candidate will be warm, energetic and self-motivated, with excellent organisational skills and a genuine enjoyment of family life. You will take initiative, have excellent common sense and be happy to muck in wherever needed.
You should be a careful and confident driver with a clean licence and your own fully insured car. Duty mileage will be reimbursed.
Above all, the family is looking for someone kind, honest, dependable and fun who will become a valued and trusted part of their home. If you feel this position suits your experience and personality, please apply below.
