Overview
A warm, busy family based on Abingdon Road, Kensington, close to Holland Park, are looking for a proactive, mature and capable nanny/housekeeper to support their household and two daughters, aged 3 and 5.
Both girls are at school from 8am–3pm each day, so the family would love to find someone who can combine after-school childcare with hands-on household support, family cooking and general housekeeping during the day.
Children
- Two girls, aged 3 and 5
- Both are at school Monday to Friday, approximately 8am–3pm
- Confident, energetic children who respond well to someone firm, warm and clear boundaries
- English is the main language spoken at home; the girls also speak Hebrew
- The family does not allow screen time with the children
Hours
- Monday to Friday
- Up to 40–45 hours per week, depending on candidate fit and availability
- Exact schedule to be agreed, but the role would include daytime housekeeping/cooking and afternoon school pick-up through to early evening
- Some weekend availability would be a bonus
- Occasional babysitting and proxy parenting required
- £52,000 per annum (DOE)
Duties
- School pick-up and after-school care
- Supporting routines, activities, snacks, supper, bath and bedtime preparation
- Holding clear boundaries and managing confident, energetic children with warmth and maturity
- Children’s laundry and tidying
- General housekeeping to keep the household running smoothly
- Daily tidying and resetting of family living spaces, kitchen and children’s areas
- Keeping bedrooms and play areas organised
- Changing children’s beds and helping keep wardrobes organised
- Managing household laundry, including washing, folding, ironing and putting away
- Keeping on top of school bags, uniforms, sports kit and activities supplies
- Running household errands where needed, such as dry cleaning, post office or local shopping
- Grocery ordering / food shopping and keeping the fridge and cupboards well stocked
- Preparing proper, healthy family meals
Travel
- Occasional travel with the family may be possible once or twice a year, but is not a requirement

- Able to hold firm boundaries
- Comfortable with parents being present in the home
- Happy to take initiative across both childcare and household duties
- A capable cook who enjoys preparing healthy family meals
- Flexible, reliable and discreet
- Driving not required
