Job Title: Residential Nanny

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 gross per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 12 hours per day on a flexible schedule, with overnight monitor responsibility.

Job Overview:
A lovely private family in Kensington is looking for a caring, flexible and experienced Residential Nanny to help care for their son, born August 2024. This is a shared care role, with both parents at home and the mother very present and involved. The father divides his working time between his home office and an external office.

The little boy is happy and in a very good routine. He attends nursery for three hours each morning, Monday to Friday, and usually has a two-hour afternoon nap. He also enjoys classes, groups, playdates and other age-appropriate activities. There will be periods of downtime for the nanny while he is at nursery.

The nanny will have the monitor overnight, although it is very rare for the little boy to wake. There may also occasionally be proxy parenting if the parents travel overnight or for a few nights during the week, although this is rare.

The family employ a housekeeper five days per week who takes care of the child’s laundry. A driver is not required. The family also have a friendly, trained four-year-old Golden Retriever who has a dog walker. Travel is minimal, although the nanny may occasionally accompany the family depending on their plans.

Responsibilities:
Providing attentive, age-appropriate care and supporting the child’s established routines and development.
Working collaboratively with the parents in this shared care role.
Planning and attending classes, groups, playdates and age-appropriate activities.
Completing all nursery duties other than the child’s laundry, which is handled by the housekeeper.
Grocery shopping for the child and preparing fresh, nutritious meals.
Taking responsibility for the overnight monitor.
Providing occasional proxy parenting when the parents travel overnight or for a few nights during the week.
Occasionally travelling with the family when required.

Ideal Nanny:
Experienced in caring for children of a similar age.
Caring, flexible and experienced.
Active, hardworking and a self-starter.
Relaxed yet professional in approach and able to recognise their role in providing excellent care while supporting involved parents.
French speaking would be a bonus due to the bilingual household, but is not essential.
Comfortable around dogs.
