We're a friendly, professional family looking for a caring, reliable and proactive Nanny for our two daughters (7 and 11), on a part-time, permanent basis.

We're based in a village between Uppingham and Leicester, not far from Market Harborough.

About us

We're a warm, close-knit academic family who value creativity, learning and being active. Both parents work full-time with some long commute days, so we look to our Nanny as a genuine, trusted presence in the girls' lives, not just supervision.

We're all artistic and are hands-on at home, and our girls are musical and sporty, each pursuing real passions, which we'd love a Nanny to get stuck into supporting them with. We parent thoughtfully and with care and consideration, and we're looking for someone who shares that same ethos.

The Role

Term Time: School collection by car, then care until early evening, preparing their meals, hearing our youngest read, homework support, and general nurturing that helps the girls feel settled after their day. Taking them to piano lessons and football training some evenings per week.

School holidays: Supporting the girls' interests and passions — sport, performing arts, crafting, cooking, day trips and outdoor games.

Hours (flexible — a starting point for discussion)

• Term time: ~15–18 hrs/week — typically Wed & Fri, 3/3.30–6pm, and Mon 4.30-6/7pm, Tue & Thu, 4/4.30–7/7.30pm

• School holidays (~20 weeks/year): full days, 8.30/9am–5/7.30pm, around 3 days/week, with the option of 5 days some weeks

• Occasional extra hours (with good notice): morning school drop-offs (7/7.30–8.30am) and or later evenings (until 7.30/8pm max) and or optional daytime hours to support general child related housekeeping (i.e. children’s laundry, rotating toys, seasonal wardrobe changes, infrequent child related grocery shopping, organising bedrooms, playroom, and craft room).

Pay & Terms

• £16–£20/hour gross, depending on experience, plus mileage and expenses
• Happy to work self-employed or PAYE via a nanny payroll company, with pension enrolment either way
• Can provide a monthly salary estimate based on hours
• For the right person, we'd consider annualising salary for consistent monthly pay year-round

What We're Looking For

• A genuine passion for childcare and interest in child development
• Flexibility, initiative and forward planning — we both work, sometimes from home and sometimes with long commute days into the office
• Some childcare qualifications preferred
• Some nannying or childcare setting experience required
• Good English language proficiency
• Clean driving licence and own suitable vehicle for school runs
• Enhanced DBS check required
