Title: Full-Time Live-Out Housekeeper

Key Responsibilities
General Housekeeping
• Cleaning and maintaining the family's homes to a very high standard
• Ensuring the properties are beautifully presented and ready for the family and their guests
• Laundry, ironing and wardrobe care, including delicate and high-value garments
• Changing bed linen and maintaining bedrooms and bathrooms to an excellent standard
• Careful handling and organisation of household items, furnishings and personal belongings
• Help prepare some meals
• Monitoring household stocks and shopping for food and household supplies
• Managing household rubbish and recycling
• Cleaning and preparing log fires and bringing in logs when necessary
• Carrying out other normal household tasks as required
Household Management
• Liaising with the Estate Manager regarding household maintenance
• Monitoring maintenance requirements for household appliances
• Arranging access for contractors and supervising works where appropriate
• Arranging domestic repairs or liaising with the Estate Manager for more complex jobs
• Dealing with parcel deliveries and visitors, particularly when the family is away
• Reporting maintenance and household management issues to the Estate Manager
Family & Events
• Working alongside the Family Principal Assistant and office to coordinate activities
• Assisting with preparations for family occasions, evening parties and weekend events
• Supporting the family, their visitors and social events when required
• Identifying tasks that need to be completed and taking ownership of them
• Providing additional household support when the principals are away for longer periods
• Supporting other family properties, the local café or rental properties when required
Candidate Specification
The ideal candidate will:
• Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
• Have previous experience working as a private housekeeper, preferably within a private family
• Have excellent cleaning and laundry skills
• Have strong food preparation and cooking skills
• Have excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation
• Be calm, discreet and professional
• Be reliable, punctual and have a strong work ethic
• Hold a clean driving licence — up to 3 points would be considered
• Be confident driving a family vehicle for errands
• Have basic IT skills, including food shopping applications, Excel spreadsheets and shared job lists
• Be organised, hardworking and able to prioritise tasks effectively
• Be comfortable learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities
• Be comfortable around dogs and willing to assist with occasional dog walking
• Be flexible regarding hours and locations
• Be willing to travel with the family if required
• Have excellent checkable references
• Have a valid Basic DBS
