Part Time Nanny
A wonderful and friendly family relocating from the US to Richmond Hill, London is seeking a warm, confident and reliable live-out nanny for their three children: a girl aged five, a boy aged four and a girl who has just turned one.
This is a long-term afternoon position, ideally starting between 21 and 25 October 2026, although the family can be flexible on the start date. They would particularly welcome a nanny who can offer additional daytime hours during the initial settling-in period.
WORKING HOURS
Monday to Friday, ongoing: Approximately 1 or 2 pm–7 pm, with the precise start time to be agreed.
Initial full-time hours: Approximately 10 am–7 pm for an estimated two to six weeks, until the older children begin school. This is expected in November, although the exact date is not yet confirmed.
Babysitting: Approx one evening per week until 11 pm at the latest, with additional hours paid separately.
Candidates should be comfortable committing to the ongoing afternoon schedule and able to offer flexibility during the initial period. No additional daytime hours are anticipated during school holidays.
THE ROLE
Initially, the nanny will care for all three children during the day. Once the older two begin school, the role will involve caring for the youngest, collecting her siblings and managing the afternoon routine through dinner.
DUTIES INCLUDE
Planning engaging, age-appropriate play, activities and outings.
Supporting the youngest child’s naps and daily routine.
School collection and after-school care.
Preparing the children’s lunch and dinner initially, and dinner only once the afternoon schedule begins.
Keeping the children’s play and meal areas clean and tidy.
Occasionally picking up ingredients for the children’s meals.
There are no general housekeeping duties. The father may work from home on some days, and the nanny should be comfortable taking responsibility for the children while a parent is working in the house.
THE IDEAL NANNY
The family is looking for someone warm, energetic and organised, with experience caring for toddlers and young children. You should be confident managing three children, supporting positive behaviour and setting calm, consistent boundaries.
Strong practical experience is valued, and formal childcare qualifications are welcome but not a deal breaker. Excellent references, an enhanced DBS check, current paediatric first aid and the right to work in the UK are required.
Salary: £22–£25 gross per hour, depending on experience.
Please apply with your CV and a brief outline of your availability, including whether you can accommodate the initial longer hours.
