Nanny
Full-Time Live-Out Nanny – Henley-on-Thames
Salary: £55,000–£65,000+ gross per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 48 hours per week
Start: January 2027, with the option to begin in December 2026
Position: Permanent, long-term
Forbes Nannies is assisting a family in rural Henley-on-Thames with their search for a nurturing, knowledgeable nanny for their two young children: a boy currently aged 10 months and a girl aged three.
The family is looking for a nanny who will build a warm, trusting relationship with their children and stay with them for the long term. They are flexible on some arrangements, with salary negotiable according to the right candidate’s qualifications and experience.
The Role
The main focus will be sole-charge care of the little boy, alongside caring for his older sister, who will attend preschool two days a week from January. The parents would like someone who is confident taking responsibility for a baby’s daily care and development, while also bringing warmth, imagination and age-appropriate activities to both children’s days.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing the children’s daily routines, including meals, naps and personal care.
Planning engaging play, outings and activities that support their development.
Preparing nutritious meals and supporting the youngest child’s feeding as he grows.
Preschool drop-offs and pick-ups.
The children’s laundry and keeping their bedrooms, toys and play areas tidy.
Keeping the parents informed about the children’s days and progress.
This is a childcare-focused position with usual nursery duties. No wider housekeeping, weekend work, regular babysitting or travel with the family is required.
Working hours
The schedule totals 48 hours across Monday to Friday:
Three days: 9am–5pm
Two days: 7am–7pm
The longer days can be Tuesday and Thursday or Wednesday and Thursday, to be agreed with the successful candidate.
Who would suit this family?
A warm, dependable nanny who enjoys caring for babies and preschool-aged children and understands how their needs change as they grow. Relevant hands-on experience is particularly important, as the parents will be entrusting their son’s full-time care to the nanny.
Candidates should have:
A minimum Level 3 childcare qualification.
Proven experience caring for babies and young children, including sole-charge responsibility.
A strong understanding of early childhood development.
Fluent English and clear communication skills.
A full driving licence and confidence driving with children.
Excellent childcare references, an up-to-date paediatric first aid certificate and an enhanced DBS check.
An interest in finding a lasting position with one family.
Norland-trained nannies are also warmly welcomed.
Driving and location
A car will be provided for use during working hours. As the family lives in a rural location without public transport links, the nanny will need their own car to travel to and from work.
Start date and interviews
The family is ready to interview during October for a January 2027 start. An earlier start in December would also be welcomed, giving the nanny and children time to get to know one another before preschool begins.
If you are an experienced, qualified nanny looking for a long-term role where you can play an important part in two young children’s lives, we would love to hear from you. Please apply with your CV and a brief note about your relevant experience and availability.
