About the Role
A warm and caring family based in South Kensington is seeking an experienced, French-speaking rota nanny to take over from their maternity nurse at the end of October or beginning of November. The successful nanny will care for their little girl, who will be approximately four months old at the start of the role, and support her through each stage of her early childhood.
Location: South Kensington, London
Schedule: Two-week rota rotation

Charge: One baby girl, approximately four months old
Languages: Fluent French and English

Accommodation: Own bedroom and bathroom with the monitor
The Family and Household
This is a fully staffed household with a positive, collaborative atmosphere, where everyone works together and supports one another. The nanny will not be expected to undertake general household chores; the focus will remain entirely on the little girl and her nursery duties. The family hopes to welcome someone who, in time, will feel genuinely part of the family rather than simply a member of staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide attentive, loving and developmentally appropriate care for the little girl throughout the rota period.
• Take full responsibility for all nursery duties, including the child’s laundry and keeping her belongings and spaces organised.
• Support feeding, sleep and daily routines, and confidently guide the family through weaning and, later, potty training.
• Encourage development through singing, conversation, reading stories, sensory play and age-appropriate activities.
• Arrange and attend suitable classes, groups and outings, helping her socialise with other children as she grows.
• Work closely and respectfully with the parents, fellow rota nanny and wider household team to ensure consistency of care.
• Accompany the family on occasional trips to their home in France.
• Provide occasional proxy parenting by prior arrangement.
The Ideal Candidate
The family is looking for a warm, confident and highly experienced nanny who is genuinely committed to a long-term position. It is essential that candidates have strong, recent experience caring for young babies and are equally comfortable supporting children as they grow from infancy through to school age.

Alongside excellent judgement and a collaborative approach, the most important quality is a genuinely big heart.
Essential Requirements
• Fluent French and English.
• Substantial, recent experience caring for babies of a similar age.
• Proven experience supporting children from infancy through to school age.
• Confident knowledge of weaning, potty training and early-years development.
• Paediatric first-aid qualification.
• Excellent, checkable references.
• A clean, enhanced DBS check.
• Flexibility to travel occasionally and undertake agreed proxy parenting.
• A collaborative, discreet and professional manner.
