Mayfair Nannies is recruiting an experienced Academic Governess / After-School Tutor for a private family based in Belgravia, London.

This is an educational position rather than a traditional nanny role. The family is seeking an academically accomplished, warm and engaging individual who can take responsibility for the boys' after-school learning, academic progress and extracurricular schedules.

The household already employs separate staff for general childcare, cooking and household duties.

Responsibilities will include:

Overseeing homework, school projects and revision.
Supporting English and mathematics across Key Stage 2 and the transition into Key Stage 3.
Encouraging reading, independent learning and intellectual curiosity.
Monitoring school communications, deadlines and academic commitments.
Coordinating extracurricular activities and additional tutoring.
Establishing a structured and stimulating after-school routine.
Occasionally collecting a child from school on foot and accompanying the children to activities.
Communicating regularly with parents regarding academic progress.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification, previous teaching, tutoring or governess experience, and an excellent understanding of the British curriculum.
Excellent written and spoken English, strong organisational skills, professional references and a warm, proactive approach are essential.
Candidates must be non-smokers and willing to undergo appropriate background checks.
This is a permanent, part-time position with the potential for hours and responsibilities to increase over time.
There are no housekeeping, cooking or general household duties.
