Nanny
Nanny Job Spec
Location: Walpole Park/Lammas Park, Ealing
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-6:30pm
Salary: Up to £51K depending on experience
Start date: From 27th November 2026
Our son Arthur has just turned 2. He is warm and sociable and loves books, animals, cars and trucks, stickers, music, swimming, soft play and trips to museums, Kew Gardens and the duck ponds.
Arthur was born at 33 weeks and is small for his age. He has multiple food allergies and currently eats mainly purées and drinks milk. His paediatrician, dietician and SALT are happy with his development and expect his eating to progress in his own time, but he needs a patient, positive and supportive approach.
We are a warm, busy family with two parents who are doctors. Grandparents care for Arthur on Fridays. Our priority is for his days to be fun, calm and unhurried, supporting his development as he prepares for preschool at his prep school in Kew next year.
We are moving into our new home in November 2026, so any trials beforehand would be at our temporary home in Chiswick.
Arthur’s routine:
• Wake 7:30am, bedtime 7:30pm
• Four meals daily and a 1.5-2 hour nap around 12pm
• Baby classes around twice weekly
• Playground/soft play daily and regular time outdoors
• Lots of reading, singing and quiet time
• Weekly swimming, reduced in winter
We are looking for a warm, humble, friendly and child-led nanny who can become a trusted extension of our family. We value open communication, shared ideas and someone looking for a long-term role.
Key requirements:
• Strong developmental focus, organising age-appropriate activities around language, emotions, sensory play, colours, shapes, numbers, letters, self-care and Montessori-style skills, while fostering Arthur’s interests.
• Loves exploring and taking Arthur out for varied activities and adventures.
• Calm, flexible and unhurried approach to his routine.
• Confident managing food allergies: up-to-date paediatric first aid, EpiPen trained, and understanding of safe play and food exposure. A compassionate approach to aversive eating is essential.
• Gentle, responsive support with sleep and potty training when Arthur is ready.
• Calm and secure approach to emotions and boundaries: kind and firm, with no shaming, anger, punishment or overcorrection.
• Confident driver. From September/November 2027, this will include driving Arthur to preschool in Kew, and around once weekly to Jesse’s House in Parsons Green until new family clubs open closer to home.
• Screen-free during the week. We strongly discourage phone use while interacting with or caring for Arthur.
• Child-related domestic duties including preparing home-cooked meals, laundry, keeping nursery/personal-care items tidy, and organising toys/playroom.
• Available for occasional evening babysitting and some flexibility if we are unexpectedly late home, although this is rare.
We both work from home around one day per week. We want our nanny to feel comfortable, valued and happy in our home, and hope to build a warm, long-term working relationship.
Please do get in touch if the role sounds like a good fit.
