About the Family & Role:
A welcoming family in Clapham are looking for their very first nanny to support their 2 children: a fun, inquisitive 5-year-old boy and his 2-year-old sister.
The boy is autistic and has ADHD. He loves Lego, science, books, and interactive learning. He thrives in a structured, predictable environment with a caregiver who understands how to build routine, keep him engaged, and make him feel calm and secure.
This role offers a guaranteed 16.25 hours per week with a consistent 3:15 pm start time each day. On days when the children have after-school activities, early start time allows the nanny to help prep meals, organise room/activities, and get everything set up before pick-up (around 4:15 pm or 5:30/6:00 pm nursery pick-up for his sister).
Key Responsibilities:
Providing high-quality, 1-on-1 after-school care with a strong focus on structure, engaging play, and routine.
School and nursery pick-ups (both within local distance).
Preparing healthy afternoon snacks/meals for the children.
Assisting with light children's duties (organising toys, light prep work prior to pick-up).
Nursery pick-up for the younger child around 5:30 pm / 6:00 pm.
Requirements:
Proven experience working with autistic children and children with ADHD/neurodivergent needs.
Excellent understanding of SEN techniques, visual schedules, and emotional regulation strategies.
Energetic, patient, structured, and proactive mindset.
Driving license is a must (family can provide a car or reimburse petrol/mileage if using own car).
Enhanced DBS check and valid First Aid certificate (or willing to obtain/renew).
Excellent checkable references.
Benefits:
Competitive pay (£23–£25 gross/hour).
Guaranteed consistent daily hours.
Opportunity for additional hours/full days during school holidays if desired.
