Male Nanny
We are seeking an energetic, sporty and engaging Manny/Nanny to support a family with two boys, aged 10 and 12. The family is flexible with working hours and prioritises finding someone who can build a strong, positive relationship with the boys, particularly their youngest son, who has ADHD and autism with a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys spending time with children, loves sport and outdoor adventures, and has the patience, understanding and emotional intelligence to support a neurodivergent child.
The Children
The eldest boy, aged 12, is passionate about sport and would enjoy someone who shares his interests and participates in activities.
The youngest boy, aged 10, enjoys boats, cars, building, imaginative play and adventurous activities. He is energetic and curious and benefits from a patient, adaptable and understanding approach.
The main focus will be supporting the youngest boy, encouraging his interests and providing a positive, consistent presence.
Responsibilities
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with both boys.
- Act as a companion, mentor and positive male role model.
- Organise and participate in sports, outdoor adventures, games and engaging activities.
- Support the youngest boy's emotional regulation using a patient, flexible and low-demand approach.
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive social interactions.
- Provide after-school and/or weekend support as agreed.
- Create a fun, active and supportive environment where both boys feel understood.
Full-time candidates will also undertake Family Assistant and Personal Assistant duties, requiring strong organisational skills and experience supporting a busy household with administrative, logistical and day-to-day tasks.
Part-time candidates will focus exclusively on the boys, with no cooking or household duties required.
Working Hours and Salary
The family is happy to build a flexible schedule around the right candidate.
Full-time
Approximately 50 hours per week.
Childcare, Family Assistant and PA responsibilities.
Salary up to £70,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.
Part-time / After-school
Monday to Friday, approximately 3:30pm–7pm.
Flexible number of days.
Weekend
Saturday and/or Sunday, approximately 4–5 hours per day, with scope for additional hours.
The family would also consider splitting the role between an after-school Manny and a separate weekend Manny. School holiday hours can be discussed.
Ideal Candidate
- Sporty, active, adventurous and enthusiastic about working with children.
- Experience supporting children with ADHD and autism; PDA experience is desirable.
- Calm, patient and emotionally intelligent, with an understanding of neurodivergence.
- Confident building genuine connections through shared interests, play and conversation.
- Flexible, reliable and adaptable.
- Able to balance being a fun companion with providing appropriate structure and guidance.
- Previous PA or Family Assistant experience is essential for full-time applicants.
- Driving is not essential but advantageous; a family car can be provided.
- Comfortable with dogs, as duties will include some dog walking.
