Both parents run their own multinational company and have created a happy, informal family home, supported by a long-standing team of household staff.
Their little boy is curious, active, cheerful and well-mannered, with a particular love of nature, movement, books and discovering new things. He thrives on a consistent routine, and the successful Nanny will focus entirely on his care, development and interests, planning enriching activities, encouraging his social development and making the most of the opportunities available locally.
This is very much a sole-charge position, although both parents enjoy spending time with their son whenever their work commitments permit. The Nanny must therefore be confident working independently whilst being comfortable with the parents' involvement.
The little boy attends nursery from 8am to 11.30am, with his parents taking him each morning. The Nanny will work Monday to Friday, generally 11.00am–6.00pm, with very occasional longer days of 10–12 hours, predominantly when travelling, averaging approximately 40 hours per week.
The family travel internationally for approximately 6–8 weeks annually and the Nanny will accompany them.
The current Norland Nanny will provide a week's handover, introducing her successor to the little boy's established routine, favourite activities and local area to ensure a seamless transition. Whilst the family have greatly valued their current Nanny's educational background, they are open to different qualifications and experience, placing particular importance on finding the right personality to complement their happy household.
The family also have a well-trained Dachshund aged one.
The ideal candidate will be warm, engaging and energetic, with a recognised childcare or Early Years qualification and a sound understanding of child development, emotional wellbeing and age-appropriate learning. Strong organisational skills and a proactive, creative approach to childcare are essential, incorporating learning through play, reading, arts and crafts, cooking, outdoor pursuits, sports and educational activities. She will be confident maintaining established routines, boundaries and good manners whilst making each day stimulating and enjoyable. Norland training would be an advantage.
A confident, safety-conscious driver, comfortable undertaking longer journeys and driving in winter conditions, together with strong swimming ability, is essential.
