Role Overview

A warm and welcoming family based in Barcelona is seeking a professional, experienced nanny to provide dedicated care for their 15-month-old daughter. The primary focus of this role will be on her development, well-being, and daily routine. The family also has a 7-year-old child, though the main responsibility will be caring for the toddler.

The ideal candidate will be a nurturing and proactive individual with expertise in caring for babies and toddlers. They should be able to independently plan age-appropriate activities, anticipate the child's needs, and take initiative in maintaining an engaging and structured daily routine. Fluency in Spanish is essential, with strong English skills required; knowledge of French is a plus. The family values a nanny who can implement healthy boundaries, foster a positive and enriching environment, and promote a healthy lifestyle. Someone who takes initiative, can problem-solve effectively, and proactively supports the household will be highly valued.

The nanny will work full-time, Monday to Friday, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, providing attentive care and support to the youngest child. This role requires someone with solid experience in toddler care who can create a structured yet flexible routine to support the child's overall development and well-being.

The nanny should be confident in all nursery duties, including feeding, diaper changes, nap routines, and engaging activities that promote cognitive, motor, and social skills. Additionally, they should foster a warm and secure environment where the little girl thrives in a loving and structured setting. The ideal candidate will take initiative in organising activities, preparing meals, and ensuring the daily routine runs smoothly without constant supervision.

Key responsibilities 

The nanny will provide attentive care, ensuring the 15-month-old's development through stimulating activities such as sensory play, reading, music, and outdoor exploration. They will establish a consistent routine, including feeding, naps, and structured playtime, while fostering a nurturing environment that encourages learning and emotional well-being. Daily duties will include preparing healthy meals, maintaining a tidy and organised space, assisting with potty training when appropriate, and encouraging independence through positive reinforcement. The nanny will also communicate openly with parents, identify childcare needs proactively, and occasionally assist with school pick-ups for the older sibling if required. Occasional travel with the family may also be part of the role if agreed upon in advance

Requirements

Proven experience working as a nanny with babies and toddlers.
Background in early childhood education or child development is desirable.
Strong knowledge of child milestones and developmental activities.
Native Spanish speaker with fluent English; knowledge of French is a plus.
Ability to take initiative in daily tasks, organise activities, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Strong ability to set healthy boundaries while maintaining a loving and engaging environment.
